Three Tips for Returning to the Gym
If your goal is to return to training, make it easy. You will feel far better about yourself. Going too hard too soon will only lead to discouragement, injury, and drop out.
- Set realistic expectations. Don’t try to continue where you left off, you will only be getting in the way of yourself. It’s discouraging and potentially injurious.
- Less is more. You are going to be sore just from moving around a little. It may feel good in the moment but you will regret it later.
- Don’t judge a workout by how sore you get. Aim to feel like your muscles have worked but not feel debilitated the following days.
