Excuses vs. Action
Let’s tackle the common reasons people skip exercise and why it’s still worth it to get moving (my tough love post of the week):
Time: “I don’t have time.” I get it, life is busy! But even a 20-minute workout can boost your mood, energy, and productivity for hours. Make it a priority, and you’ll find the time.
Fatigue: “I’m too tired.” Ironically, exercise increases energy levels and fights fatigue. Start small with a walk, light run, or even a stretching routine—it might be just what your body needs to feel revitalized.
Weather: “It’s too cold/hot/wet.” Weatherproof your workout with indoor exercises; go to the pool, gym or do an at home follow along workout. Option 2: embrace the elements with a refreshing run or hike!
Lack of Motivation: “I don’t feel like it.” Motivation comes and goes, but discipline builds habits. Set realistic goals, find activities you enjoy, and stick with it. Results will follow.
Rewarding Yourself: “I deserve a break.” You do! And exercise can be a rewarding break. Think of it as self care that boosts your mood, reduces stress, and improves overall health.
Why exercise anyway? Because it’s not just for physical fitness; it’s also for mental clarity, stress relief and longevity. If you want to feel your best inside and out then challenge those excuses, prioritize your health, and crush your fitness goals!
