Start Small, Achieve BIG

WGetting back into the swing of things? Whether you’re starting a new exercise routine or returning after a break, remember this golden rule: Don’t bite off more than you can chew.

I know many people that are starting up an every day fitness challenge this month (RED May). This year I have amended the challenge to incorporate more autonomy in selecting the mode of exercise (cardio, weights, or stretching) keeping recovery in mind. I am hopeful that this approach to fitness will have more of a lasting impression that just trying to run or ride every day.

While there is value in the repetition of performing the same activity for an extended period it is less likely to have the same impact on long term adherence as most participants will stop altogether once the set duration is complete. It’s also easy to get caught up in the excitement and push yourself too hard. A slow and steady approach is key to lasting success.

👉 Begin with manageable goals.
👉 Allow your body time to adapt.
👉 Focus on consistency, not intensity.

Celebrate every step forward, no matter how small. Progress is progress! 🌱
